Mason

As a Mason in the UAE, you will play a critical role in the structural phase of various construction projects, including residential towers, commercial hubs, and public infrastructure. You will work with a variety of materials and tools to lay foundations, construct walls, and apply finishing touches to concrete and stone surfaces. This role requires a high level of precision, as your work forms the core structural integrity of the buildings you help create.

You will work under the supervision of a Civil Foreman or Site Engineer, collaborating with other trade professionals such as Carpenters and Steel Fixers. The ideal candidate must be capable of reading technical blueprints, mixing various types of mortar and concrete to specific ratios, and operating both traditional hand tools and modern power equipment. Resilience and a strong work ethic are essential, as you will be working in a fast-paced environment that often requires working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Key operational areas include:

• Blockwork and bricklaying for internal and external walls
• Plastering and surface finishing (rendering)
• Concrete casting and structural repairs
• Tile fixing and marble/stone cladding

Your daily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Structure Building: Lay bricks, concrete blocks, and stones according to architectural plans and blueprints to create walls, partitions, and foundations.
• Surface Preparation: Mix mortar, cement, and plaster to the correct consistency and apply them to surfaces for binding or finishing.
• Plastering: Apply coats of plaster or stucco to walls and ceilings to create smooth or textured surfaces.
• Concrete Work: Pour and level concrete for floors, sidewalks, and beams, ensuring correct depth and consistency.
• Finishing & Polishing: Smooth out, level, and finish freshly poured concrete using floats, trowels, and screeds; repair rough or defective spots.
• Blueprint Reading: Interpret construction drawings and specifications to plan work, estimate material needs, and understand project layouts.
• Safety & Maintenance: Clean and maintain masonry tools and equipment; follow all site safety protocols, including the use of PPE.

We are looking for dedicated professionals who meet the following criteria:

• Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven experience as a mason in large-scale construction or maintenance. Previous experience in the UAE or wider GCC region is highly desirable.
• Education/Certification: Valid Trade Certificate or Diploma in Masonry/Building Construction from a recognized technical institution (e.g., NITA Grade 1 or 2).
• Technical Skills: Mastery of blockwork, brickwork, and plastering. Ability to read and interpret civil/structural drawings and use leveling tools accurately.
• Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit and capable of lifting heavy materials, standing for long periods, and working at various heights.
• Reliability: A strong sense of punctuality, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multicultural team.
• Language Skills: Basic command of spoken English is required to follow site instructions; basic knowledge of Arabic is an added advantage.
• Documentation: Must possess a valid passport and be ready to undergo the necessary medical examinations and background checks for UAE visa processing.
