Job Description
As an Electrician in the UAE, you will provide critical technical services across a variety of settings, ranging from residential towers and commercial offices to industrial warehouses. You will work on both new installations and existing system upgrades, ensuring that power distribution is efficient and safe. This role requires a diagnostic mindset, as you will often be tasked with identifying faults in complex electrical systems and implementing long-term repairs.
You will work alongside other trade professionals (Plumbers, HVAC Technicians) under the supervision of a Project Engineer or MEP Supervisor. The ideal candidate must be adept at using specialized testing equipment, reading complex circuit diagrams, and adhering to strict health and safety protocols (HSE). Precision and attention to detail are paramount in this role to prevent hazards and ensure system longevity.
Key operational areas include:
- Power distribution and control system wiring
- Lighting and emergency power system installation
- Panel board dressing and circuit breaker maintenance
- Preventative maintenance and emergency fault finding
Responsibilities
Your daily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Installation: Lay out, assemble, install, and test electrical wiring, conduits, cables, and fixtures based on technical drawings and blueprints.
- Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems to identify potential issues before they cause system failures.
- Troubleshooting: Use testing devices like voltmeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters to diagnose malfunctions in circuits and components, then execute necessary repairs.
- Component Replacement: Replace or repair faulty circuit breakers, fuses, switches, electrical and electronic components, or wire as required.
- Compliance: Ensure all electrical work meets local UAE regulations (such as DEWA/ADDC standards) and international safety protocols.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and materials used for project reporting.
Requirements
We are looking for dedicated professionals who meet the following criteria:
- Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience as an electrician in the construction, maintenance, or MEP sector. Previous experience in the UAE or wider GCC region is highly desirable.
- Education/Certification: Valid Diploma or Trade Certificate in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology (e.g., NITA Grade 1 or 2).
- Technical Skills: Proficient in reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Strong knowledge of 1-phase and 3-phase systems.
- Tools & Equipment: Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing instruments.
- Safety Focus: Deep understanding of electrical safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols.
- Language Skills: Good command of spoken English is essential for following site instructions and safety briefings.
- Documentation: Must possess a valid passport and be eligible for UAE visa processing (including medical and background clearance).
