Job Description
As a Trailer/Truck Driver in Riyadh, you will be a vital part of our client's supply chain operations. You will operate heavy-duty commercial vehicles, primarily articulated trailers, ensuring the secure transit of cargo from distribution centers to client sites. This role demands a high level of responsibility, strict adherence to traffic laws, and the physical stamina to handle long-haul routes.
You will be expected to conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, accurately log your travel hours, and maintain professional communication with dispatchers and clients. The ideal candidate must possess a valid heavy-duty driving license and have a proven history of operating trailers in challenging environments.
Key learning and operational areas include:
- Long-haul logistics and route planning in the GCC region
- Cargo securing and weight distribution protocols
- Basic preventative maintenance and vehicle troubleshooting
- Compliance with Saudi Arabian traffic and transportation regulations
Responsibilities
Your daily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Vehicle Operation: Safely drive and operate heavy-duty trucks and articulated trailers over long and short distances within Saudi Arabia.
- Inspections: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle (checking brakes, tires, fluids, and lights) to ensure roadworthiness.
- Cargo Management: Oversee the loading and unloading processes, ensuring that all cargo is properly secured, balanced, and protected from damage during transit.
- Compliance & Logging: Maintain accurate records of hours of service, mileage, fuel consumption, and cargo delivery receipts in accordance with company policy and Saudi regulations.
- Route Planning: Plan travel routes effectively to meet delivery schedules while adapting to traffic conditions and weather changes.
- Maintenance: Perform minor emergency repairs and report major mechanical issues to the maintenance department promptly.
Requirements
We are looking for seasoned professionals who meet the following criteria:
- Experience: Must have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven experience driving heavy-duty trailers/trucks. Previous driving experience in Saudi Arabia or the wider GCC region is highly preferred.
- Licensing: Must possess a valid Heavy Duty/Trailer driving license (Kenyan license with international driving permit or a valid Saudi/GCC heavy license).
- Technical Knowledge: Sound understanding of truck mechanics and the ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Physical Fitness: Excellent physical health, good eyesight, and the stamina to endure long hours of driving and physical labor related to cargo handling.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication skills (Basic English is required; Arabic is a significant advantage), reliability, and a clean driving record with no history of major accidents.
- Documentation: Must possess a valid passport and be ready to undergo medical and background checks for visa processing.
